Toma
Toma live in the forest on the border between Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
They are known for producing anthropomorphic masks which have a very geometric powerful and prominent brow overlooking a long narrow nose and a face down flat, often with a form of shield. A variant of this mask is a hinged jaw. This mask crocodile jaw was supposed to devour the young initiates to the Poro society, a prelude to their new lives as full members of that society.
