The Koro live in northern Nigeria. They were making anthropomorphic cups. We must imagine a statue of a woman of about sixteen feet high providing, from the stomach up to underneath the breasts, a container shaped like the figure eight. This type of cup was used to drink palm wine in ritual sacrifices each year or during second funerals. This type of cup is remarkable for the game between full and empty and also between the curved shapes and mainly straight forms.
