Product Description Antelope mask

Beautiful antelope walu mask with remains of polychromy sepia, in the form of triangles and lines. The rectangular mask is crossed by two vertical pits eye of brown colour. It is surmounted by two thick horns, black ringed with distinct bases. Beautiful forms and beautiful patina. The wearer of the mask has a stick with which he pretends to dig the ground for planting seeds. Belief refers to men who want to capture an antelope which killed goats and sheep with its horns. They handed him a trap by trying to attract with a hole in which was a goat, but the animal after it escaped falling. The men killed the Walu with guns but some died. A mask carved with the image of the antelope was carved to ward off the spell.
